Metal for a New Massacre
Instrument(s) - "Guitar, and coming soon...vocals?"
Bio - "Matt got his first guitar at the tender age of 15 and began torturing family and neighbors with bad attempts at Metallica songs. Soon though he began to get the hang of it and starting taking Metallica requests at will from friends eager to stump him. They soon realized Matt could play every Metallica riff in existence. Taking close to 100% of his influence from James and Kirk, Matt soon began writing his own riffs and finding other influences as his musical interests broadened. As the years passed he became more adept at creating his own personal style of riff which were heavily rythmic and often times blistering fast. Matt got into several small outfits mostly playing songs based on his own riffs and some that wanted to play punk including a stint with a punk band playing drums. As he progressed in his self taught journey Pantera and Slayer played a big part in his evolving style. For years Matt played riffs of his own creation in his room to little more than his dog, until the day came when Matt H. and Jay came into Pizza Hut and asked him to tryout for a metal band they were trying to put together. Matt agreed most earnestly that they needed to form a band and jumped on board enthusiastically. Matt strives to create music that challenges himself and any who listen. In Devil's Champion, Matt's style of self taught feel and improv. are a tailor made compliment to Matt H.'s superb technicality. Matt is ecstatic about playing with the other members of D.C. as he considers them the best musicians he has ever played with."
Equipment - "Matt uses Randall amps and Behringer cabs. All of Matt's guitars are Ibanez S class, one Ibanez S470, and one Ibanez S520EX with Elixir Strings and Dunlop BIG STUBBY 3.0mm picks."
Influences - "METALLICA, PanterA, Slayer, Lamb of God, Fear Factory, The Beatles, Black Sabbath, and too many others too mention. ""If you don't take influence from everywhere you are missing a lot!"""
