SHAI HULUD posts title track off upcoming album Misanthropy Pure

Posted: 4/11/2008

Shai Hulud has just made the title track off their upcoming album Misanthropy Pure available for fans to check out on their MySpace page HERE. The title track Misanthropy Pure will also be the band's first video off their Metal Blade Records debut and will be shot by David Brodsky (All That Remains, Hate Eternal, The Black Dahlia Murder).

Here's what Matt Fox had to say:
'Hello ladies and people,
Your friendly neighborhood Shai Hulud here, cold lampin', cold chillin'... or... something cold anyway. Actually, it's rather nice out - not too cold at all. And none of us have ever "lamped," nor are we even sure what it means to "lamp," though we own a few. We're even friends with one on MySpace. But none of that probably counts for much. Someone fill us in.

Rumors are abound! How exciting... Allow us to address the biggest rumor, which is not as much rumor as it is cold hard lampin' truth... Our new album, entitled Misanthropy Pure, will be released on May 27th (yeah... this year, jerko) through Metal Blade Records. Yes, yes, we finished said album a few months ago but didn't bother making an announcement because we knew none of you would believe us. What skeptics. We have trained you well.

For those concerned with such details, Ms. Pure features the ideas, performances, and overall efforts of these guys, alphabetically - sing with me, ABCDEFG and so forth and so on:

Matt Fletcher - Bass
Matt Fox - Guitars
Andrew Gormley - Drums
Matt Mazzali - Vocals
Greg Thomas - Engineer / Co-producer

You can catch the three Matts (dare we say, Mattrick') on tour supporting Ms. Pure this year. Our long time friend and once-upon-a-time-before-he-was-a-family-man touring drummer Andrew Gormley was specially brought in just for the arranging and recording of the album. Greg, owner of Silver Bullet Media where Ms. Pure was recorded, who has also been seen playing second guitar with us on tour the past few months, is hard at work preparing the release of Colossus, the debut album of his band, The Risk Taken. Be sure to check that out when it, as some might say, drops.

So... What does old Ms. Pure sound like' We won't bother you with rhetoric when you can just listen to the title track right here on our handy-dandy MySpace page. Thanks Tom!

Misanthropy Pure is one of 11 very different sounding songs on the album, so the good news is if you think Misanthropy Pure is the worst song you have ever heard in your inconsequential life, there are 10 more that may just tickle your grody little fancy.

We'll be shooting a video for Misanthropy Pure sometime this month. Let the song soak in and read the lyrics (which are posted below) so you can come out, sing along and get rowdy with us on camera. Once we have the details about the video shoot we'll let you know. In the meantime, neglect your chores and homework; get familiar with the song and get your finger-pointing fingers ready. We'll be piling on top of each other and singing along soon. Again, we'll post the details of the video shoot as soon as we have them. Keep the rest of this month open.'
